June 3 /22 Restoration is underway with the dismantling of the player stack and piano action from the piano.
The first item for restoration is the piano action which is the section that plays the piano, This section will be dismantled and restored to once again operate correctly, hammers to be carded, Bridle straps and felts replaced, jack felts regulated and new felt rests etc.
Piano will then be tuned. This will require several tunings to bring the instrument back up to pitch so this is the first items to be restored while the next item is worked on which will be the players stack or top section which holds the music roll and the 88 little bellows with operate as the music paper roll is "read" and actually play the piano action.

June 10/22 Work this week was directed onto the piano action. This required the usual teardown, cleaning and replacing worn or damaged felts, jacks ,etc as well as a new hammer shank which had been broken several times in the past. Instrument was given it's first two tunings this week,
July 14 2022, Restoration continues now onto the player pianos top section known as the "Stack" This is a very complicated part containing hundreds of parts, all of which must be handled one at a time, cleaned, new material such as leather, felt and in your case zephyr skin pouches.
July 29/22 Work continues on the Player stack, The lower and most complicated part of the restoration is now completed. This includes the very special unit valve assemblie which is only used on this style of player piano action.
Aug 5 2022 Work continues to complete the player piano stack then onto the main pumps which are located in the lower section of the instrument.
Aug 13 2022 Work continues on the player pianos bellows over the past few weeks which is shown below.
I am pleased to say that the bellows have now been completed and are as of today installed back into the piano. Today we had the pleasure of hearing the instrument play once again. This coming week we will be testing and regulating the piano to the player system etc.

Aug 19 2022 The following pictures are the retubing of the piano itself for the player piano system as well regulating the various items
Pictures 2 & 3 show the "Tracking Pneumatics" once in a while remove the top where my fingers are pointing and clean off the dust from the little thimble shaped screens. The only other item is to clean out the tracker bar with your home vacuum and to keep the instrument well humidified in the winter.
