Gebroeders Weber, 1926, Waldkirch, Germany Before the First World War, salon orchestras were especially popular. This changed from 1920, when American entertainment music entered Europe. The orchestrion builders had to adjust their instruments to make this new music, often with completely different instrumentation, sound good.
