Restoration picture progress report
Restoration has begun on the Wormwith Player piano with the disassembly of the player system from the piano. The Moving company found a number of loose sections of veneer on the piano case which we will also repair.
The actual piano is quite out of tune and will be slowly be brought back up to pitch over the next month to A435.
This player has all of the features offered back in the 1920's including Automatic tracking of the music roll, Automatic sustained pedal (With manual over ride) Solidest expression system. to name just a few.

March 5 2022. The work this week was on the piano itself and bring it back into tune, I found the upper section of the piano completely out of tune and quickly discovered that many of the tuning pins had slipped and could no longer hole the pitch of the note. I could see the previous tuner had tried everything to make the pins tight again from applying pin tightener fluid to hammering the tuning pin into the plate.
The correct way to make this repair is to replace the old tuning pin with a larger size tuning pin, also several strings needed replacing. Other wise it was a straight forward cleaning and regulation of the piano action, Next was to restore the floor of the piano etc.
Next items are the lower main pumps and sustaining pneumatic device.

March 27 2022, Restoration on the lower section of the instruments main pumps etc. was completed this week with the pumps being tested then reinstalled into the instrument and the tubing of it, sustaining pedal pneumatic and various controls completed.
This week will see the start of the player "stack" or top section of the player piano system.
